Fort Worth, Texas – A noticeable return to colder weather is expected across North Texas next weekend as another cold front moves through the region, bringing chilly nights and cooler daytime temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the cold front is expected to pass late Friday, setting the stage for a colder start to the weekend. Friday night temperatures across the Fort Worth area are forecast to drop into the upper 20s to low 30s, marking a sharp contrast to recent milder nights.
By Saturday, daytime highs are expected to rebound modestly into the upper 40s to low 50s, with sunshine helping to take the edge off the cold air. Despite the milder afternoons, temperatures will fall quickly after sunset.
The coldest conditions arrive Saturday night, when overnight lows are forecast to dip into the mid-20s to around 30 degrees across much of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. These temperatures could pose a risk to pets, sensitive plants, and exposed outdoor plumbing if precautions are not taken.
Conditions improve slightly on Sunday, with highs climbing back into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees, though the morning will still feel cold. Clear skies and light winds may allow for another chilly start before temperatures recover later in the day.
No winter precipitation is expected with this system, and no cold weather advisories have been issued at this time. However, the temperature drop may be impactful for early-morning commuters, outdoor workers, and anyone traveling overnight.
The National Weather Service recommends dressing in layers, bringing pets indoors overnight, and protecting sensitive plants as colder air settles in.
