Fort Worth, Texas – Mild and sunny weather is expected across North Texas on New Year’s Eve, bringing favorable conditions for travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, afternoon high temperatures today will reach the mid to upper 60s across the Dallas–Fort Worth region, including Fort Worth (66°), Dallas (66°), Waco (66°), Sherman (63°), and Graham (67°). A cold start early this morning will give way to sunny skies through the afternoon.

For New Year’s Eve tonight, conditions will remain dry with clear skies and seasonably cool temperatures after sunset. No fog, precipitation, or roadway hazards are expected overnight.

On New Year’s Day (Thursday), similarly mild conditions will continue, with highs again reaching the 60s across much of North Texas. Winds will remain light, supporting smooth travel conditions for holiday commuters.

Officials note that December 2025 will finish as one of the warmest and driest Decembers on record for both the DFW area and Waco, despite rainfall totals ending slightly below normal for the year.

Major travel corridors including Interstate 20, Interstate 30, Interstate 35W, Interstate 35E, and U.S. Highway 287 are expected to remain clear and dry through the holiday period, with no weather-related delays anticipated.

This calm weather pattern may benefit New Year’s Eve events, overnight workers, and holiday travelers moving across North Texas late tonight and into Thursday.
