Fort Worth, Texas – Triple-digit heat is holding just south of Fort Worth, but residents won’t find much relief this week. Drivers on I-35 and I-20 should brace for hot pavement and hazy commutes as temperatures climb into the mid-90s by Wednesday, September 10.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, sunshine dominates through the weekend, with highs of 93 to 96 degrees expected Wednesday through Friday. Lows will only dip into the upper 60s and lower 70s, offering little nighttime cooling. Officials warn that extended exposure to heat may stress older residents and outdoor workers. Hydration and limited sun exposure remain key safety steps.

North Texas skies will stay mostly clear, making air quality a growing concern. An alert remains posted for the Dallas–Fort Worth metro, and drivers may notice hazy horizons during evening rush hours. Calm to light southeast winds offer little relief from the stagnant air.

While rain stays out of the picture, the long stretch of heat will dry out soil and boost fire danger in rural counties west of Fort Worth. Outdoor burns should be avoided, and residents are urged to monitor local fire advisories.

The weather pattern will stay locked in place through early next week, with highs still in the lower 90s into Monday. The National Weather Service advises checking updates daily, as fall cold fronts remain stalled north of Texas.
