Fort Wayne, IN – A strong cold front will move through northern Indiana this evening, bringing light snow, possible freezing drizzle, and a blast of Arctic air, according to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana.
Forecasters expect around an inch or less of snow accumulation, with a chance of light freezing drizzle making roads slick overnight. Much colder air will settle into the region late tonight, dropping temperatures into the teens before plunging toward zero degrees by Thursday night.
Wind chills will range from 5°F to 15°F above zero tonight, falling to as low as -10°F by early Friday morning. Highs Thursday will struggle to reach the mid-20s, and the cold stretch is expected to last into the weekend.
Drivers should prepare for potentially icy conditions this evening and bundle up if traveling early Thursday or Friday morning, as frostbite risk increases in subzero wind chills.
