Fort Wayne, Ind. – Northern Indiana will squeeze in one more warm day Saturday before cooler, unsettled weather moves in to close out the weekend. Highs will reach the lower 80s Saturday, but clouds and scattered showers will build in from the west by evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, rain chances rise to 40 percent Saturday night, especially west of Interstate 15. Sunday and Monday will both bring off-and-on showers across the region, though forecasters stress no severe storms are expected. Rain coverage could reach 55 percent Sunday and near 65 percent Monday, keeping skies mostly cloudy and holding daytime highs in the mid to upper 70s.
South Bend, Elkhart, and Fort Wayne can expect periods of light rain at times, with more humid conditions persisting through Monday. While steady rain is not expected, motorists should still be alert for slick spots during heavier downpours.
The unsettled stretch will ease by midweek, with drier weather returning and temperatures staying seasonably mild in the 70s. Additional advisories could be issued if rainfall amounts trend higher than expected.
