South Bend, Indiana – Heat indices across northern Indiana are soaring into triple digits Monday, with conditions expected to stay dangerously hot through Tuesday, prompting continued heat advisories across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, heat indices will range from 98°F to 103°F both Monday and Tuesday, with areas like Rochester, Fort Wayne, and South Bend seeing peak values near or above 100°F. Isolated storms may develop Monday, though most locations will remain dry. A better chance of storms arrives Tuesday into Wednesday, with gusty winds and heavy rain possible but no widespread severe weather anticipated.

Cities such as Warsaw, Kokomo, and Logansport are also under the heat advisory, while Kankakee and Lafayette could feel like 107°F during peak afternoon hours. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors, especially those without access to air conditioning.

Relief is in sight. Cooler, drier, and far less humid air is expected to arrive Wednesday night and persist through the weekend. Additional advisories may be issued Tuesday depending on heat index trends.

⚠️ Warnings remain in effect until at least Tuesday evening. A shift in the pattern should bring noticeable relief by Friday.
