Fort Wayne, Ind. – Northern Indiana will see a stretch of warm, humid weather this week, with an uptick in storms expected Tuesday night. Temperatures will climb into the mid-to-upper 80s Tuesday afternoon before thunderstorms develop, some arriving during the evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana, scattered storms could begin as early as tonight, but Tuesday’s late-day activity will likely be more widespread. Gusty winds, heavy downpours, and lightning may impact travel across U.S. 30, I-69, and I-80 corridors, especially from Fort Wayne to South Bend.

Wednesday will stay warm, with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s, and a chance for lingering scattered showers. Residents should keep rain gear handy and allow extra travel time, especially during the morning drive. Outdoor events may face interruptions due to brief but heavy showers.

Conditions are expected to improve late Wednesday as humidity eases slightly, though another round of unsettled weather could arrive by late week.
