Fort Wayne, Indiana – Temperatures will climb into the 40s and 50s by Friday before a 20 to 40 percent snow chance returns Saturday across northern Indiana.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, highs Wednesday will range from the upper 30s to low 40s under variable cloud cover. Breezy conditions are expected both Wednesday and Friday, especially along open stretches of Interstate 69 and US-30.

Temperatures Thursday will reach the mid-30s to mid-40s, followed by a noticeable warmup Friday. Highs are forecast to climb into the upper 40s and 50s, with the warmest readings expected along and south of the US-24 corridor, including Fort Wayne and surrounding communities.

Dry weather is expected through Friday, limiting travel impacts for commuters along I-80/90, US-31 and I-94. However, forecasters indicate snow chances will increase Saturday as temperatures begin to fall.

Current projections show a 20 to 40 percent probability of snow Saturday, though snowfall amounts and exact timing remain uncertain. Areas along and south of US-24 have the highest chance of seeing precipitation.

It will remain breezy at times through the end of the workweek, which could affect high-profile vehicles on north-south roadways.

The warming trend may benefit late-week commuters and students before colder air returns this weekend.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecast updates as confidence increases in Saturday’s system.
