Fort Wayne, IN – A motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Sunday night after a collision on Fort Wayne’s east side, according to police.

Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded around 7:44 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2025, to the area of East State Boulevard and Tonawanda Trail following reports of a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

According to a release from the FWPD, officers arrived to find a motorcyclist suffering from severe injuries and a vehicle with significant damage. Medics transported the rider to a local hospital.

Due to the seriousness of the crash, the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) took over the investigation, assisted by the Air Support Unit. The roadway is expected to remain closed while investigators document the scene.

Police said speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. No other details about the driver or the victim have been released as the investigation continues.
