Fort Wayne, Ind. – Northern Indiana residents should brace for a hot and sticky weekend as temperatures and humidity rise steadily through Sunday. Highs will range from the upper 80s to mid-90s, with heat indices pushing well into the 90s by Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, Saturday’s highs will reach 88 to 92 degrees with oppressive humidity, and Sunday could see readings from 87 to 94 degrees. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible late Saturday or Sunday, but most communities are expected to remain dry and see little relief from the heat.

The combination of high temperatures and moisture will make outdoor activities uncomfortable and potentially dangerous, especially for those working or exercising outside. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during peak heat hours, and seek air conditioning when possible.

This stretch of hot weather is expected to linger through Sunday evening before temperatures begin to moderate slightly early next week. Additional heat advisories could be issued if humidity levels remain high.
