Fort Wayne, IN –
Detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Division concluded a month-long narcotics investigation with the arrest of Alexis M. Springer, who allegedly sold fentanyl to an undercover detective, officials announced Monday.
According to police, Springer—who is currently enrolled in Allen County Drug Court—allegedly sold about 10 grams of fentanyl during the investigation. When taken into custody at 624 E. Lewis Street around 7:26 p.m. on October 20, detectives reportedly found 18.1 grams of methamphetamine, 3.9 grams of fentanyl, and 1.6 grams of cocaine.
Springer, born June 15, 1995, faces multiple felony charges including dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug (Level 2 felony, five grams or more within 90 days), three counts of dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug (Level 4), five counts of dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug (Level 5), possession of methamphetamine (Level 6), and two counts of possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug (Level 6).
According to detectives, the arrest follows ongoing efforts to curb fentanyl distribution throughout Allen County. The department emphasized continued collaboration between local and state agencies to address narcotics-related crimes and the growing fentanyl crisis impacting the region.
