Forsyth County, NC – A Walnut Cove man has been arrested on multiple felony charges after authorities linked two shooting incidents in Rural Hall and King, North Carolina, to a workplace retaliation case.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), deputies responded on October 10, 2025, to the 1100 block of Pullman Drive in Rural Hall, where a resident reported vandalism after multiple bullets were fired into their home.
Investigators, working with the King Police Department (KPD), determined the shooting was connected to a similar vandalism case at a Walmart in King. Authorities believe the crimes were carried out in retaliation for the suspect’s girlfriend being fired from her job.
Larry Keaton Brown, 72, of Walnut Cove, has been charged with eight felony counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Property and one felony count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
Brown is being held without bond at the Stokes County Detention Center for related charges and is scheduled to appear in Forsyth County Court on December 2, 2025, in Courtroom 205.
“By combining resources and collaborating with multiple agencies, we have proven that crime has no jurisdiction,” said Forsyth County Sheriff Henry C. Gray Jr., commending the efforts of detectives and partner agencies.
