Joliet, IL – The Forest Preserve District of Will County is calling nature lovers to the trails once again for the spring edition of its popular “Be a Trailblazer” challenge. After a successful winter session, the challenge returns with fresh missions, new prizes, and exciting opportunities to engage with the great outdoors.
Running from Thursday, April 10, to Saturday, May 24, participants can join by downloading the free Goosechase app and searching for “Be a Trailblazer” or entering the code PQNL75. The new set of missions will go live at noon on April 10, and participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the rules available at ReconnectWithNature.org before hitting the trails.
Throughout the year, the challenge offers more than $10,000 in prizes, including kayaks, tents, fishing gear, and more. In addition, local businesses are contributing prizes like gift cards, with new additions like explorer passes for The Forge: Lemont Quarries and Joliet prison tours.
Prizes are linked to completing specific missions, with 10 points awarded per mission. Although points determine leaderboard rankings, the drawing for prizes is based on mission completion, not points. Weekly giveaways will also include Be a Trailblazer T-shirts.
The summer and fall sessions of the challenge are set for later in the year, continuing the momentum and building excitement around the program’s growing participation.
