Paxton, IL – Junior high students in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda school district will have a chance to pick out holiday gifts for loved ones this Tuesday as the district partners with the Paxton Church of Christ for its annual Holiday Shopping Event.

According to Paxton-Buckley-Loda CUSD 10, the event will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the church basement. The program allows PBL Junior High students to browse a selection of new or gently used items and select gifts at no cost. This year’s items include hats, gloves, board games, jigsaw puzzles, candles, soap, blankets, slippers, cookware, water bottles, sports equipment, thermal cups, and gift cards.

The district noted that Thursday is the final day for community members to donate items for the event. Monetary donations are also accepted and help fill gaps in available gift options. School officials say the annual effort provides support for students who may otherwise face challenges finding holiday presents for family members.

Families who wish to participate can fill out a Google Form provided by the district. Event organizers encourage early responses to ensure the shopping space is prepared for the expected number of students.

The program is coordinated by PBL staff and church volunteers, who set up the basement as a temporary holiday “shop,” complete with organized tables and gift stations. Students will be able to choose gifts privately and take them home the same evening.

For more information, community members are encouraged to contact PBL staff member Katrina Reber at kreber@pblpanthers.org.
