Fond du Lac County, WI – A crash involving a school bus carrying 12 children led to minor injuries for a driver Tuesday morning, but no students were harmed, authorities said.

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at about 7:04 a.m. September 16, 2025, to a report of a collision on County W near St. Paul Road in the Town of Calumet. A passenger vehicle had struck the rear of a stopped school bus with its warning lights and stop arm activated.

The bus was transporting approximately 12 students at the time, all of whom were reported uninjured. The driver of the car, identified as a 56-year-old woman from Malone, sustained minor injuries and was transported for treatment, officials said.

Investigators noted that the driver reported direct sunlight may have been a factor in the crash, impairing her visibility. Authorities emphasized that sun glare can significantly impact driving conditions during early morning and late afternoon hours.

No additional injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Town of Calumet Fire Department and Mt. Calvary Ambulance.

Residents are reminded to use extra caution when driving in conditions where sunlight could obscure vision.
