Fond du Lac County, WI – A 20-year-old man from Black Creek, Wisconsin, was arrested Saturday after a 24-mile police pursuit that ended in a crash near a farmstead west of Fond du Lac, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the incident began in Lamartine on Rolling Meadows Drive when a deputy stopped a vehicle displaying plates that didn’t match its registration. As the deputy approached, the driver allegedly sped off, heading southbound and then westbound on Highway 23.

According to Sgt. Andrew Kohlmann, the suspect made multiple U-turns to evade capture, at times driving head-on toward deputies. The chase lasted roughly 23 minutes before the vehicle crashed into a ditch near Forest Avenue Road.

All five occupants were taken into custody without further incident. Deputies searched the vehicle and reportedly found suspected marijuana, alcohol, and a loaded handgun hidden in a backpack.

Authorities said the driver sustained minor injuries and now faces multiple felony charges, including reckless endangerment, fleeing and eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drugs. The four passengers, all age 21 or younger, received citations for underage alcohol possession and drug paraphernalia.

The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted Fond du Lac County deputies during the pursuit. No officers or squad cars were damaged.
