The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on January 25, when a deputy observed a vehicle speeding eastbound on State Highway 23 near Townline Road. The deputy’s radar reportedly showed speeds in the 90s before locking in at 100 mph. Officials say the driver also crossed the centerline twice before being stopped.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy identified indicators of alcohol impairment during the traffic stop. The woman allegedly told deputies she believed she was traveling on Interstate 41 and was on her way to Waupun. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and an empty liquor bottle, authorities said.

Based on the investigation, deputies arrested the driver for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) – 1st offense. She was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail following the stop.
