Paducah, KY – Residents in western Kentucky can expect a mix of winter weather this week, with flurries forecasted Tuesday and below-normal temperatures persisting until midweek. The chill will make way for a warming trend by Thursday, accompanied by rain on Friday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, Tuesday’s high will reach 37 degrees with lows dropping to 14 by nighttime. Flurries are possible in parts of the region, including southwest Indiana and northwest Kentucky, though accumulation is not expected. A deep freeze will settle in Tuesday night, keeping Wednesday’s high near 33 degrees. Overnight lows will bottom out at 19 before temperatures rise on Thursday.

Sunny skies on Thursday will help thaw the area, with highs climbing to 45 degrees. By Friday, temperatures will reach 50 degrees, but increasing rain chances could bring slick conditions on local roadways, including stretches of I-24 and US-60. The NWS advises drivers to use caution during Friday’s commute as strong winds may accompany rain showers.

The weekend will see a sharp drop in temperatures again. Saturday’s high will barely reach 40 degrees, with a return to freezing conditions by Sunday. This pattern sets the stage for colder-than-normal weather continuing into next week.
