Orlando, Fla. – Drivers in Orlando should expect another round of storms Friday, with showers possible during the morning commute and a greater chance of thunderstorms developing after 11 a.m. Afternoon highs are set to climb to 86 degrees, making for a hot and stormy stretch across Central Florida.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, scattered thunderstorms could linger into the weekend, with a 50% chance of rain Saturday afternoon and storms persisting into Sunday. Gusts may reach up to 20 mph during stronger storms, creating hazardous travel conditions on I-4 and surrounding roadways.

Residents in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties should plan for sudden downpours, frequent lightning, and brief localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Outdoor events may face delays, and those with weekend beach or park plans are urged to monitor changing skies closely.

By Monday, Orlando could reach 88 degrees under partly sunny skies, but the storm threat continues into the evening before conditions clear overnight. The unsettled pattern is expected to last into early next week, though storm chances drop slightly by Tuesday and Wednesday.
