Miami, Florida – Storms are expected to fire back up in Miami by Saturday afternoon, potentially bringing lightning, localized flooding, and steamy conditions just as weekend plans kick off.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, with highs near 87°F and southeast winds up to 10 mph. While skies will remain partly cloudy Saturday night, humidity will persist and temps won’t fall far, hovering around 81°F overnight.

Sunday brings higher chances of rainfall—40 percent—especially after 3 p.m. Storms will again develop across Miami-Dade County and surrounding areas, keeping roads like US-1 and I-95 slick and congested. By Sunday night, the threat of storms continues under mostly cloudy skies and lows near 81°F.

Expect warm and humid conditions to carry into early next week. Monday and Wednesday each bring a 30–40 percent chance of afternoon storms, paired with daytime highs near 86–88°F. Winds stay light, but with high moisture in place, heat indices could easily climb above 95°F. Tuesday looks slightly drier, with only a 20 percent chance of showers and mostly sunny skies.

Residents should monitor for lightning, avoid flooded streets, and plan ahead for indoor alternatives this weekend. Keep devices charged in case of power flickers and hydrate frequently during outdoor activities.

More storms are possible heading into July 4, so check back Monday for updated Independence Day weather plans.
