Tallahassee, FL – The National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee is advising drivers across North Florida and South Georgia to use extra caution Wednesday morning as patchy fog reduces visibility in some areas.

The fog is expected to persist until shortly after sunrise, particularly in low-lying areas, valleys, and near waterways. Motorists are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Frost may also be present on windshields in a few inland locations early in the morning.

“Be prepared for sudden changes in visibility and take it slow, especially on bridges and overpasses,” the NWS said in its morning update. “Conditions will improve rapidly after sunrise as fog lifts and skies clear.”

Once the fog clears, seasonable and mild weather will dominate the region through the end of the week. High temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-60s to lower 70s, with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s. The weekend looks mild and dry, with no significant rain chances expected until next week.

Forecast data shows Tallahassee and nearby communities—Apalachicola, Valdosta, Bainbridge, and Panama City—holding near 0% precipitation chances through Monday, with steady daytime warmth.

Residents are encouraged to check local visibility reports and remain alert for foggy conditions during the early morning commute.
