Jacksonville, FL – Crisp air and cool breezes greet North Florida this morning, but by week’s end, sunshine and 70° warmth return. After a stretch of chilly nights, temperatures will climb steadily into the upper 60s and low 70s as high pressure builds over the Southeast.

According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, skies will stay mostly clear through the weekend, offering one of the most comfortable stretches of early December weather across the state. Highs will reach near 66°F Wednesday and 65°F Friday, then peak near 70°F Saturday under bright blue skies.

Morning lows will dip into the low 40s, giving the air a crisp, almost “false winter” feel before the sun takes over each afternoon. Winds remain light, occasionally gusting to 15 mph, making for ideal travel, outdoor work, or early holiday decorating conditions. No rain is expected before early next week.

While much of the country braces for snow and Arctic air, Florida enjoys what meteorologists call a “December warm pocket” — a calm spell between stronger northern cold fronts. The next potential front could arrive around December 17, possibly bringing cooler air and a few showers to end the week.
