Tampa, FL – A cold front sweeping through Tampa Bay today will bring thunderstorms, gusty winds, and a sharp temperature drop. Highs this morning will reach 74°F but will quickly fall to the low 60s by afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), scattered thunderstorms are expected late morning into the early afternoon, with localized heavy rainfall possible. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph, especially near the I-75 corridor, creating hazardous driving conditions. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm activity and secure outdoor items before the wind intensifies.
By Wednesday evening, skies will clear as temperatures plunge further, reaching a low of 43°F. Thursday will remain sunny but much cooler, with a high of only 63°F and wind chills making it feel even colder in the morning.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will see a gradual warming trend. Highs will return to the upper 70s by the weekend under mostly sunny skies, providing a pleasant reprieve for outdoor plans. Nighttime lows, however, will hover in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Residents should prepare for cooler mornings through the rest of the week by layering appropriately and monitoring local forecasts for updates. Stay informed on weather conditions to plan activities and ensure safety during today’s storms.
