Tallahassee, FL – Residents in North Florida, South Georgia, and Southeast Alabama should prepare for possible strong storms Thursday afternoon as a cold front moves through the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a “Marginal Risk” (Level 1 of 5) has been issued for isolated severe storms on Thursday, September 25, 2025, especially in areas stretching from the Florida Panhandle into southern Georgia and southeastern Alabama. The greatest risks include isolated damaging wind gusts and frequent lightning during the afternoon and evening hours.
The cold front, expected to influence local weather through Saturday, will bring increased rain chances and potentially cooler, drier conditions behind it. Forecasters added that the front may also help steer any developing tropical systems in the Western Atlantic away from the Southeast, reducing the risk of tropical threats in the near term.
While the severe threat remains limited, residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and remain alert for updated advisories. Outdoor plans Thursday afternoon may be impacted by fast-developing storms capable of producing hazardous lightning and gusty winds.
