Orlando, FL – The Florida sun is back in full force today, spreading across the region as mild mornings give way to near-summer warmth. By Sunday, highs could reach around 80°F — a striking contrast to the winter chill sweeping much of the nation this post-Thanksgiving weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, light north winds will keep skies mostly clear Friday and Saturday. Afternoon highs will climb from the low 60s into the 70s by Saturday, and Sunday will feel more like late spring than early December. Travelers heading home from the holidays can expect smooth, sunny conditions across the I-4 corridor and along I-95 through much of the state.

By Sunday evening, however, moisture begins creeping back into Central Florida, bringing a 20% chance of light showers that could expand into early next week. Meteorologists say a subtle pattern shift will develop as a weak cold front approaches from the Gulf by Tuesday, nudging temperatures back into the low 70s and upper 60s.

This mild stretch serves as an early “December tease” before a cooler, breezier pattern settles across much of the Southeast from December 2–6. Floridians should expect slightly lower humidity, crisper mornings, and the kind of weather that’s perfect for outdoor decorating or early holiday events.

For now, the state remains one of the few warm refuges as winter conditions tighten across the Midwest and Northeast. Enjoy the sunshine — the next front could bring a much different tone to the first week of December.
