Miami, Florida – Partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures are expected throughout South Florida today, with highs ranging from the low to mid 80s across Southeast Florida to the upper 80s and lower 90s in Southwest Florida. However, beachgoers should be cautious, as a high risk of rip currents remains along the Atlantic coastline.
According to the National Weather Service, there is more than a 50% chance of rip currents affecting the beaches from Miami to Naples. This includes popular spots such as Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and the surrounding coastal areas. Although some coastal showers are possible, most areas will remain dry through the day.
The primary concern today is the high rip current risk along the East Coast’s Atlantic beaches. The NWS urges swimmers to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines. Always swim at beaches with lifeguards present, and pay attention to the flags posted on lifeguard stands and beach entrances. Red flags indicate dangerous rip currents, and visitors should stay out of the water when in doubt.
As temperatures soar with Miami reaching 84°F and Naples 89°F, warnings will continue through the afternoon. Stay updated for additional alerts, and exercise caution when visiting the beach today.
