Florida – The morning sky glows pale gray over Orlando, the air heavy with humidity and the faint scent of rain on pavement. A line of isolated showers and thunderstorms may form late morning through early afternoon, briefly dampening parts of Orange and Seminole Counties before giving way to sun and mid-80s warmth.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Melbourne note that rain chances peak around midday, with gusty southwest winds up to 25 mph possible during stronger cells. Skies begin to clear later this afternoon as drier air moves in from the Gulf, setting up a run of mostly sunny, mild December weather for midweek.
Drivers along I-4 and Route 417 should use caution during passing downpours — brief bursts of heavy rain could reduce visibility and create slick spots. Temperatures will climb to around 82°F, falling to near 60°F tonight under mostly cloudy skies.
The pattern turns calm by Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s. Through the weekend, expect classic early-December Florida weather: cooler mornings in the 50s, sunny afternoons, and light coastal breezes.
While much of the country braces for Arctic air and snow, Central Florida remains mild and muggy, ideal for travelers and early holiday decorators. Still, watch for patchy fog late this week — a subtle reminder that even in December, Florida’s weather can shift fast.
