JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A warm, breezy weekend continues across northeast Florida, with a few spotty thunderstorms Sunday before sunshine dominates early next week. The National Weather Service warns of a Rip Current Statement along the First Coast through Monday, urging swimmers to stay near lifeguards and avoid risky surf conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, highs will reach the mid-80s Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies. Light northeast winds will turn southeasterly by Sunday afternoon, gusting up to 20 mph. A few isolated showers or storms could pop up late Sunday, especially along the I-95 corridor and near coastal St. Johns and Duval counties.

While rainfall chances remain low—around 20 percent—the primary hazard remains dangerous surf along area beaches. Mariners and beachgoers should heed red flags and avoid swimming in strong currents through early Monday. Clear skies and calm conditions return Monday with a high near 76°F.

The start of the new workweek brings ideal fall weather for outdoor events, yardwork, or early Halloween decorating. Tuesday and Wednesday will stay sunny and warm, with highs near 80°F and lows in the low 60s.

By midweek, Jacksonville enjoys one of the region’s most comfortable stretches of fall weather so far—dry, bright, and mild—offering a perfect setup for late-October festivals and weekend planning across northeast Florida.
