Miami, FL – South Florida is bracing for its coldest temperatures of the season as breezy northerly winds drive in much cooler air tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday for northern inland areas, including Glades, Hendry, and northern Palm Beach and Collier counties. Wind chills are expected to drop into the low 30s around Lake Okeechobee, with upper 30s to 40s elsewhere across the region.
The same winds fueling the cold will also bring hazardous marine and beach conditions. A Small Craft Advisory and High Surf Advisory remain in effect for coastal waters and beaches from Palm Beach to Miami-Dade, with rough surf, high waves, and dangerous rip currents expected through Tuesday evening.
Forecasters urge boaters to avoid open waters and residents to bundle up overnight, as apparent temperatures will feel several degrees colder than actual readings.
Temperatures will gradually rebound midweek, with highs climbing back into the 70s and 80s by Thursday.
