Florida – Headlights fade into a gray blur across Central Florida this morning as dense fog settles over highways, neighborhoods, and low-lying areas. Moist air clings to the pavement, and visibility drops quickly, especially along early commutes near I-4 and surface roads.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through mid-morning for Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, and Volusia counties. Visibility may fall to a quarter mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions during peak travel hours.

The fog formed under calm winds and high humidity, a common winter setup across inland Florida. Drivers near Orlando, Winter Park, Kissimmee, Sanford, and Apopka should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra distance between vehicles. Conditions may change rapidly block to block.

Once the fog lifts, sunshine takes over. Temperatures climb into the low 80s later today, drying roads and improving visibility. Patchy fog may return late tonight and again early Friday, especially near lakes and rural areas.

Looking ahead, the pattern stays warm and mostly quiet. Friday and Saturday bring highs in the low to mid-80s with light winds and dry conditions. That warmth feels pleasant but increases the risk of fog redeveloping during late-night and early-morning hours.

By Sunday, a weak system may bring a slight chance of showers. Cooler air filters in early next week, lowering highs into the 60s and reducing fog coverage as drier air arrives.

For now, the biggest impact remains this morning’s fog. Allow extra travel time and expect sudden visibility drops before conditions improve.
