Tampa, Florida – A surge of daily thunderstorms and heavy rain is set to impact Tampa Bay and surrounding counties through Wednesday, bringing the risk of localized flooding, slick roads, and steamy summer heat.

According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, a classic summertime weather pattern will deliver scattered to numerous showers and storms each afternoon and evening, with rain chances peaking as high as 90% from Monday through Wednesday. Highs will climb to the mid-90s in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, and Pasco counties, while overnight lows remain muggy in the upper 70s.

Residents from St. Petersburg to Lakeland and Sarasota should plan for sudden downpours, frequent lightning, and brief gusty winds. Outdoor events and travel could be disrupted by heavy rain and ponding on roads, especially during the late afternoon. If thunder roars, move indoors quickly and avoid flooded intersections.

Emergency officials urge residents to check local alerts, secure outdoor items, and keep electronic devices charged in case of power outages. Summer rainfall rates can rise quickly, leading to urban flooding similar to previous July storms.

This wet pattern is expected to persist with only minor relief between showers. More advisories or flood alerts could be issued as the week progresses. Stay tuned to NWS Tampa Bay for updates as daily storm risks continue into next week.
