Orlando, Florida – Thunderstorms could disrupt Friday plans across Central Florida as summer heat intensifies and afternoon rain chances spike once again.
According to the National Weather Service, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop after 2 p.m. Friday, July 25th, with a high near 94°F and heat index values climbing past 102°F. Southeast winds of 5 to 10 mph may accompany localized downpours. Outdoor activity should be limited during peak heat hours. Drivers along Interstate 4 (I-4) should expect slick roads and reduced visibility late Friday afternoon.
Rain chances drop to 20 percent Saturday, though the heat remains unrelenting. Orlando will see highs near 97°F with calmer winds and mostly clear skies. Storm activity picks back up Sunday afternoon with a 30 percent chance of rain and temperatures topping 96°F.
By Monday, isolated storms and mid-90s highs continue the trend. Tuesday and Wednesday both hold 30–70 percent rain chances, with heaviest activity Tuesday night, per NWS. This extended heat and humidity pattern could strain power grids and affect weekend travel across Central Florida.
Residents should hydrate frequently, limit time outdoors, and monitor local updates. Rainfall may be brief but heavy in storms. Lightning remains a risk.
