Tallahassee, FL – A significant weather system will bring severe storms to Florida, Southeast Alabama, and Southwest Georgia starting Sunday afternoon and lasting into Monday afternoon. A “Slight Risk” (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather has been issued for these regions, according to the National Weather Service. The primary hazards will be damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes, with a heightened risk in parts of Alabama, Georgia, and Florida’s Panhandle.

On Sunday, thunderstorms are expected to develop and increase in intensity by Monday, with widespread rainfall and gusty conditions throughout the area. In addition to the storm threat, high winds and dangerous rip currents will be prevalent at coastal areas through the weekend. The storms are forecast to move out by Monday afternoon, giving way to cooler temperatures as a cold front moves through.

The temperature will reach highs near 80°F in much of the affected region over the weekend, but a dip into the upper 60s is expected by Tuesday, offering some relief. Local authorities are urging residents to stay informed and take precautions, especially at coastal locations.
