Miami, FL – Early risers across South Florida are waking up to a warm, muggy Sunday with temperatures in the low 70s and a few passing clouds overhead. While the morning feels calm, the atmosphere is building toward another humid start to the week, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible by Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, light southeast breezes today will shift south and strengthen Monday, pulling tropical moisture inland. Expect highs in the low 80s Monday before showers develop late morning through evening. While rainfall totals should stay under half an inch, brief downpours could make roadways slick, especially along I-95, US-1, and coastal causeways during the afternoon commute.

By Tuesday, drier air filters in behind the front, leaving mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s. Winds turn northeasterly and humidity levels drop slightly — a welcome cooldown for mid-December. The second half of the week looks tranquil and bright, ideal for early holiday shopping, outdoor dining, and travel across South Florida.

Looking further ahead, long-range models continue to hint at cooler, drier air pushing into the Southeast between December 11–17, bringing the season’s first real cold snap to the Deep South.
