Melbourne, FL – Thunderstorms and high-risk rip currents are threatening Florida’s east central coast, with dangerous beach and marine conditions continuing through Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, isolated lightning storms may persist from Lake Okeechobee to the Treasure Coast through 3 a.m. Tuesday. Rip currents pose a significant hazard at all central Florida Atlantic beaches, prompting officials to strongly discourage swimming or wading.

Small crafts should exercise caution offshore, as Gulf Stream seas remain choppy with swells up to six feet. The hazardous marine conditions will extend throughout the week, especially impacting areas along A1A from Flagler Beach to Jupiter Inlet. These conditions may disrupt beachgoers, boating plans, and spring break activities.

While storm coverage will be lower Tuesday afternoon, a few strong storms could return with gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain. Patchy fog is expected early Tuesday, followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 88°F in Orlando.

5-Day Weather Outlook for Orlando & East Central Florida:
