Orlando, FL — A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for Central Florida, increasing fire danger across the region as dry, gusty conditions continue into Saturday. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning as winds pick up and humidity levels remain low.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, the warning covers Orange County and surrounding areas, lasting until 7 p.m. Friday. Winds from the north-northwest will range from 15 to 20 mph, with humidity levels dropping as low as 20%. These conditions create an elevated wildfire risk, with any flames likely to spread rapidly.

Weekend Forecast: Warm and Dry

Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 77°F. Winds will shift southwest at 5 mph, keeping conditions dry. Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low of 52°F.

Sunday’s forecast includes mostly sunny skies and a high of 82°F, with light southeast winds returning. By Sunday night, cloud cover will increase slightly, and temperatures will drop to 59°F.

Looking Ahead: More Warm Weather

Monday and Tuesday will remain warm, with highs in the mid-80s and mostly sunny skies. Nights will be mild, with temperatures in the low 60s. Light winds will continue, keeping the air dry and fire risk elevated.

Stay Safe: Fire Prevention Tips

Residents should avoid burning debris or starting campfires this weekend. Secure outdoor equipment that could create sparks, and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately to authorities.
