Orlando, FL – Central Florida residents should brace for oppressive heat and dangerous afternoon storms Saturday, as a heat advisory remains in effect through 7 p.m. with “feels like” temperatures reaching up to 107°F. The combination of triple-digit heat and late-day thunderstorms could disrupt weekend plans and pose risks to outdoor workers and travelers.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, storms are expected to develop after 1 p.m. Saturday, with rainfall rates between a tenth and quarter inch—though heavier amounts are possible during stronger cells. Highs will reach near 96°F, and the humidity will push heat indices well above the danger zone. The threat continues into Saturday night with storms lingering before 11 p.m. and low temperatures dropping to the upper 70s.

Storm chances remain elevated through Sunday and Monday, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours. Cities including Kissimmee, Sanford, and Winter Park may see frequent lightning, localized flooding, and gusty winds. Northeast winds will offer little relief, as humidity remains high across the region.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor exposure during peak heat, stay hydrated, and avoid flooded roads during downpours. Power outages may also occur with isolated severe thunderstorms.

More advisories may be issued if storm intensity or heat conditions worsen through early next week.
