Orlando, FL – Sweltering heat will grip Central Florida through Tuesday, with temperatures climbing to a scorching 96°F in Orlando and little relief until late week.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s high will reach 95°F, with only a slight chance of showers after 5 p.m. Winds stay light, but conditions remain dangerously hot during afternoon hours. Tuesday continues the trend, topping out at 96°F under full sun. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, hydrate frequently, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

Drivers along State Road 50 and I-4 should expect intense pavement heat, especially during the Tuesday afternoon commute. UV exposure will be extreme — apply sunscreen and plan outdoor tasks early in the day.

By Thursday, a shift begins. A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives in the afternoon and continues into Thursday night. Friday will be slightly cooler at 93°F, though still hot by seasonal standards.

Here’s a five-day look ahead for Orlando:

  • Monday: High 95°F, sunny with slight evening showers
  • Tuesday: High 96°F, very hot and sunny
  • Wednesday: High 95°F, dry with gusts up to 20 mph
  • Thursday: High 92°F, 30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms
  • Friday: High 93°F, partly sunny with lighter winds
