Florida drivers woke to a hazy start Monday as headlights faded into thick fog across Central Florida. Moist air hugged roadways, blurring lane markings and softening the outlines of overpasses during the early commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until mid-morning. Visibility drops to one-half mile or less at times, especially across Orange, Seminole, Osceola, and Brevard counties. The advisory includes the Orlando metro and surrounding inland communities.

Morning travel requires patience. Drivers along I-4, SR-417, and U.S. 441 should slow down and leave extra space. School traffic adds to the risk, with buses and parents sharing foggy neighborhood streets. Low visibility may change suddenly near lakes and low-lying areas.

Fog thins steadily after mid-morning as sunshine strengthens. By late morning, skies turn mostly sunny, and temperatures climb quickly. Highs reach the upper 70s this afternoon, making it feel more like spring than early January.

This Weather pattern repeats into Tuesday and Wednesday. Patchy fog redevelops before sunrise both days, followed by warm, sunny afternoons near 80 degrees. Calm winds and lingering moisture keep fog potential elevated during early travel hours.

Thursday turns even warmer. Sunshine dominates, with highs reaching the low 80s. By Friday, humidity increases slightly, though dry conditions hold. No Winter cold or precipitation threats appear this week, but fog remains the main daily hazard.

Meteorologists stress fog safety through midweek. Use low-beam headlights and avoid sudden stops. Visibility improves fast once the sun rises, but caution matters early.
