According to the National Weather Service Miami office, a marginal risk for severe storms remains in effect through Sunday evening, with the potential for damaging wind gusts, small hail, and heavy downpours. The strongest activity is expected during the late afternoon and early evening hours.
Residents in areas west of West Palm Beach and around Lake Okeechobee should remain weather-aware. Wind gusts may exceed 40 mph in the most intense cells, and while widespread impacts are not expected, the storms could create dangerous travel conditions and brief power outages.
Drivers are advised to avoid flooded roadways and secure outdoor items ahead of potential gusts. Boaters on the lake should monitor for rapidly changing conditions and seek shelter if storms approach.
