Tallahassee, Florida – Blazing sunshine will usher in the first full week of June across North Florida, sending daytime highs soaring into the mid-90s by Tuesday. With little relief in sight, Tallahassee residents should brace for a hot and mostly dry stretch that lasts through at least Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, increasing clouds Sunday will give way to several days of clear skies and rising heat. Sunday’s high is expected to hit 90°F, followed by 92°F Monday and a sweltering 94°F Tuesday and Wednesday. Southwesterly breezes will keep humidity levels high, increasing the risk of heat stress for those working or exercising outdoors.

Expect mostly calm nights in the upper 60s to low 70s. The best — albeit slim — chance for showers arrives Wednesday afternoon with only a 20% chance of precipitation. Most areas along I-10 will remain dry through midweek, which may worsen dry soil conditions or stress young plants. Residents should hydrate frequently, limit outdoor tasks during peak hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday bring the best shot at a pattern shift. Scattered afternoon storms are possible both days with highs still climbing into the low 90s.

Summer has arrived in Tallahassee. Heat remains the dominant story through at least Friday, with more seasonal thunderstorms expected to build by next weekend.
