Tampa, Florida – Morning commuters across west-central and southwest Florida should plan for repeated fog delays through the end of the workweek, as foggy starts remain the primary weather concern across the Tampa Bay region into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, areas of morning fog are expected each day through Saturday, with visibility occasionally dropping during the early commute before conditions improve by mid-morning. After the fog lifts, skies turn mostly sunny with warm, dry conditions dominating much of the day.

Afternoon temperatures will remain well above seasonal averages, climbing into the upper 70s and mid-80s across inland areas, while coastal communities stay slightly cooler. Rain chances remain minimal through Saturday, allowing for favorable outdoor conditions once the fog clears.

Drivers are urged to slow down during foggy periods, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra stopping distance, especially along I-4, I-75, and U.S. 19 where fog tends to thicken near waterways and low-lying areas.

Changes arrive Sunday as a weak cold front moves through the state. That system may bring a brief chance of showers or thunderstorms, followed by cooler and less humid air early next week. Additional updates are expected as the front approaches.
