Miami, FL – Dry, gusty conditions are raising fire concerns across South Florida as the region enters the first official week of spring. A Red Flag Warning remains in effect through Monday evening, with breezy northwest winds persisting into Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Miami, strong winds and low humidity could allow fires to spread rapidly. Winds are expected to reach 15-25 mph on Tuesday, with gusts up to 30 mph. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning and to remain cautious with flammable materials.

In addition to fire concerns, beachgoers should be aware of hazardous rip currents along the Atlantic coast. The high risk of rip currents will continue through early next week, making swimming conditions dangerous. Those heading to the beaches should stay near lifeguards and avoid swimming in rough surf.

Looking ahead, South Florida will remain dry and breezy through midweek. Tuesday will bring clear skies with a high of 74°F, followed by a warming trend into the weekend. By Thursday, the first day of spring, temperatures will rise to 81°F with sunny skies.

The extended forecast shows mild conditions continuing, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and mostly clear skies through Sunday. However, winds will remain elevated, keeping fire risks high.

Residents should stay updated with local alerts and follow safety recommendations from emergency officials.
