Miami, FL – Drivers in South Florida are facing hazardous conditions this morning as dense fog blankets inland areas, reducing visibility to a quarter of a mile or less. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that the fog could create dangerous driving conditions, particularly along Alligator Alley, Lake Okeechobee communities, Naples Metro, and inland suburbs of southeastern Florida.
According to the NWS Miami, the risk level for dense fog is elevated, with a 70-80% chance of visibility dropping to unsafe levels. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, use low-beam headlights, and exercise caution, especially in low-lying areas prone to fog buildup.
The fog is expected to persist until 9 a.m. before gradually lifting after sunrise. Drivers should stay updated on weather conditions and check traffic reports for any disruptions.
