Tampa, FL – Florida residents will feel a sharp chill tonight as the coldest air of the season moves into the region, bringing freezing temperatures and dangerous wind chills, according to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay.

A Freeze Warning is in effect for Levy, Citrus, and inland Hernando counties from late Monday through early Tuesday. A Cold Weather Advisory also covers west central and southwest Florida, where wind chills are expected to drop into the 20s and lower 30s overnight.

Forecasters say lows will range from 29°F to 41°F, with wind chills as low as 22°F by early Tuesday morning. These conditions mark the coldest air mass of the season and could threaten sensitive vegetation and unprotected pipes.

The weather service urges residents to protect people, pets, plants, and pipes, especially in rural and inland areas north of Tampa Bay. Winds are expected to remain breezy through the night before calming slightly by Tuesday afternoon.

Warmer weather is expected to gradually return midweek as temperatures rebound into the 60s and 70s.
