ampa, Florida – A passing cold front is slicing across west-central Florida today, bringing isolated showers to some areas while creating a sharp contrast in high temperatures from north to south.

According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, the cold front will move through the region during the morning and early afternoon hours. Isolated showers are expected mainly north of Interstate 4, affecting areas such as Brooksville, Inverness, and parts of Citrus and Hernando counties. Rain coverage will remain limited, with many locations staying dry.

The more noticeable impact will be the wide spread in temperatures. Highs north of I-4 are expected to top out in the upper 60s to low 70s, while areas farther south, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Bradenton, and Sarasota, could warm into the upper 70s to lower 80s before the front fully clears the area. Breezy conditions may develop briefly as the front passes.

Drivers should remain alert for brief wet roads in northern counties during the morning commute. Outdoor plans farther south should have little disruption aside from changing winds and warmer afternoon temperatures.

Conditions turn quieter later today as the front exits the region. Cooler and drier air settles in tonight, with more seasonable weather expected to follow. Additional updates may be issued if shower coverage increases north of I-4.
