MIAMI, Fla. – Heavy coastal moisture continues to push across South Florida this Sunday morning, fueling thunderstorms and keeping a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect through 8 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Miami. Persistent east winds are keeping tides elevated along Biscayne Bay and low-lying neighborhoods near U.S. 1 and I-95, where standing water may linger during high tide cycles.

According to the National Weather Service, periods of showers and storms remain likely through Monday afternoon before a gradual shift toward drier conditions begins late Monday night. Drivers on I-195, I-95, and causeways into Miami Beach should watch for ponding water and reduced visibility during heavier downpours. Beachgoers are urged to avoid entering the surf, as rip currents remain dangerous along the Atlantic coast through Monday evening.

Tuesday brings relief as a weak front drifts south, allowing for slightly lower humidity and sunnier skies by midweek. Highs stay in the mid-80s, but a northeast breeze will make afternoons feel more comfortable. The pattern should favor outdoor activities—like fall festivals and early Halloween decorating—by Thursday and Friday.

Residents should keep storm drains clear, avoid flooded streets, and secure lightweight decorations ahead of any remaining gusty periods. The late-week setup looks promising for park visits and leaf-viewing events across South Florida as drier, calmer fall weather finally takes hold.
