Tallahassee, Florida – Warm, dry conditions are holding across North Florida today, but a shift arrives within the next 24 hours as storm chances build Tuesday night and temperatures surge toward near 90 degrees by the end of the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, rain chances will increase to 20 to 35 percent beginning Tuesday evening and continuing through Wednesday, with the highest coverage expected overnight into early Wednesday. Areas along the Florida-Georgia line, including Valdosta, Albany, and Bainbridge, face the greatest likelihood of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
High temperatures today will climb into the mid-80s across Tallahassee, Dothan, and Panama City, with slightly cooler readings along the immediate coast near Apalachicola. By Tuesday and Wednesday, cooler air briefly dips highs into the upper 60s and 70s before a rapid warmup begins late week.
By Friday, highs are expected to reach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees across much of the region, including Tallahassee and Albany, marking a return to summer-like heat.
Residents should remain alert for lightning during midweek storms and plan for changing conditions during evening hours. Additional updates are likely as storm timing becomes more precise.
