Tallahassee, Florida – Triple-digit heat and afternoon thunderstorms will put North Florida residents on alert Friday, July 25th, as summer conditions intensify. The National Weather Service warns of heat index values up to 100°F in Tallahassee by noon, along with a 70% chance of storms rolling in after 11 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, storms may cause gusts up to 20 mph, especially along US-319 and US-27, making afternoon travel risky. Flash flooding is not expected, but isolated downpours could impact visibility and create slick road conditions. South winds will shift from calm to gusty in the afternoon as the system builds across the Panhandle.
Friday’s high will reach 92°F under partly sunny skies before storms develop. Winds will remain steady at 5 to 10 mph, shifting southeast. The evening will clear, with lows near 75°F and calm winds returning overnight.
Saturday brings a near-repeat, with sunshine early followed by a 30% storm chance after 2 p.m. The high will climb to 95°F, and the heat index may exceed 100°F again. Sunday will be the hottest day in the forecast, with highs hitting 99°F and storms developing late afternoon.
By Monday, rain chances increase to 60% with a high of 90°F — a welcome cooldown. Thunderstorms remain likely into Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures hold in the low 90s.
