Tallahassee, Florida – Another cold front is set to move through the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend late this week, bringing a renewed chance of rain Friday night into Saturday before ushering in cooler, drier air for the second half of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a medium chance of rain, around 30 to 50 percent, is expected across much of the region as the front approaches. Rain chances appear highest from southeast Alabama into southwest Georgia, while North Florida and the eastern Big Bend are more likely to see scattered showers rather than steady rainfall.

Showers are expected to develop Friday night and continue into at least part of Saturday, potentially impacting travel along I-10, US-27, and US-84. While no severe weather is indicated at this time, periods of rain could lead to slick roads, especially during overnight and early morning hours.

Behind the front, cooler air filters into the region Sunday into Monday, marking a noticeable change from the recent mild pattern. Daytime highs are expected to trend downward, with lower humidity making conditions feel cooler across the Panhandle, Big Bend, and south Georgia.

Residents are encouraged to plan for wet conditions late Friday into Saturday and stay updated as the cold front nears. Additional updates or advisories may be issued if rain coverage or timing shifts later this week.
